Howard A. Slater is a Principal and the OSJ of Cedar Brook Financial Partners, and a Partner in the firm’s practice of Mannen, Munday and Slater. Mr. Slater specializes in comprehensive financial planning for high net-worth individuals and closely held business owners. He has served as advisor to executives from many Fortune 500 companies and government agencies.

Mr. Slater is a Registered Representative with Securities America Inc. and Investment Advisor Representative with Securities America Advisors and he recently completed his Masters of Science in Financial Services sponsored by The American College. 

Prior to joining Cedar Brook Financial Partners, Mr. Slater served as Director of Operations and Regional Director of Financial Planning for Cleveland Financial Group, as well as lead instructor for the firm’s training and development program. 

Mr. Slater received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management, and he received his Certified Quality Engineer appointment from the American Society of Quality Control. He serves as a (FINRA) panel arbitrator and earned a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation, a Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) certification and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) certification. 

Mr. Slater’s co-authored book, “Plan of Action-Strategies to Help You Build and Preserve Wealth”, has been well received in the professional and consumer marketplace. 

Additionally, Mr. Slater has authored or co-authored several papers, as well as formerly creating and publishing The Cleveland Financial View, a quarterly client financial planning newsletter. He has served on Lincoln Financial Advisor’s National Planning Committee and Securities America’s National Advisory Council. He also has spoken at multiple national planning conferences and public planning forums, and he volunteers his time for various religious and educational organizations throughout Greater Cleveland.

Mr. Slater resides in Solon, Ohio with his wife, Debi, and their two daughters.
